A Milestone Moment in Manufacturing: Process Machinery, Inc. Breaks Ground on Expansion

On October 20, Process Machinery, Inc. (PMI) celebrated a major milestone with the groundbreaking of our facility expansion in Shelbyville, Kentucky. The event marked another exciting chapter in PMI’s 46-year history and came at the perfect time — during Manufacturing Month, when we honor the hard work and innovation that keep Kentucky’s manufacturing industry moving forward.

Employees, local and state leaders, and community partners joined together for the ceremony, celebrating PMI’s nearly $11.5 million investment that will add more than 28,000 square feet to our operations and create 30 new full-time jobs.

Speakers included Rocky Adkins, Senior Advisor to Governor Andy Beshear; Dan Ison, Shelby County Judge/Executive; Troy Ethington, Mayor of Shelbyville; and Pat Hargadon, Chair of the Shelby County Industrial & Development Foundation. Each shared words of appreciation for PMI’s continued investment and commitment to growing jobs right here in Shelby County.

Founded in 1979 by David Miles and his father, William Miles, PMI has grown from a small family business into one of the region’s leading manufacturers of custom aggregate processing plants and conveyor systems. Today, the company employs over 115 team members serving producers across Kentucky, Ohio, and surrounding states.

The expansion will include additional manufacturing space, a new paint facility, office additions, water retention infrastructure, and other site improvements to support our continued growth.

“This groundbreaking is more than an expansion of our facility — it’s a reflection of our people, our community, and our belief in Kentucky’s future,” said Daniel Miles, President and Co-Owner of PMI. “We’re proud to continue investing in Shelby County, where hard work and innovation have always been the foundation of what we do.”

The celebration also highlighted PMI’s role in strengthening Kentucky’s manufacturing landscape. As part of Team Kentucky’s continued momentum, PMI’s growth stands as an example of how strong partnerships, innovation, and a dedicated workforce can keep our state’s manufacturing industry thriving.

We’re thankful to everyone who joined us for this special day — our partners at Kelley Construction, the Shelby County Industrial & Development Foundation, the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce, and, most importantly, our dedicated PMI team.

The future is being built right here in Shelby County, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of it.
