We’re excited to announce the installation of yet another Metso HRC8 crusher, one of the very first in the continental United States! This time, our focus shifts from limestone to sand production, bringing groundbreaking change to a family-owned startup’s operations. 

The Story

All Star Sand & Gravel INC approached us with a challenge: they were producing 75 to 100 tons per hour of a byproduct—3/8” x ¾” river gravel—that was piling up and taking up valuable space. With the HRC8 crusher, they found an affordable, efficient solution that transformed their unmarketable product into a premium revenue stream! 

The Process

The operation begins with hopper-fed feed material, moving into the HRC8 crusher where the product is expertly processed and screened to catch any oversized material. The result? A high-quality end product that is 100% passing the 3/8” sieve and 98% passing the #4 sieve.

Thanks to the HRC8 crusher, this startup can now turn what was once an unsellable byproduct into two high-demand, sellable products. This transformation has boosted their productivity by an impressive 30%, enabling them to process around 100,000 tons of stockpiled material in the first year alone.
